CHESS this Sunday, October 29th at Starbucks!

Hi Everyone!

Join us this Sunday, October 29, 2023 at our regular Starbucks venue for fun, challenging chess over the boards! All ages and skill levels are welcome, there are no dues, there is no purchase required (but it would be nice) - come and go anytime! Don't be surprised this Sunday if a few kids are there, too! There usually is a chess puzzle to solve, and if you are the first to solve it on the first try, you win a free tall Starbucks drink of choice!

We meet from 3:00 p.m. through to closing time every Sunday and Wednesday afternoon, and last Wednesday's session saw Matthew, Ben C., Tony, and FBen enjoy the game! Stay tuned for details regarding a club tournament to be scheduled sometime late November or early December 2023. In the meantime, see you soon, come on by, make new friends as we have often have new and returning players join us, and renew old friendships.

CHESS this Wednesday, October 25th at Starbucks!

Hi Everyone!

Last Sunday, we welcomed two new players, Ethan and Aaron, and there to welcome them were about a dozen other players enjoying an afternoon of chess over the boards: Tony, Kevin, Mike T., Ben C., Reza, Morgan, Max, Will, Yancy, Red, Chris, and Alwyn...! It was Max who was first to solve the chess puzzle on the first try to win the free Starbucks drink!

We meet every Sunday and Wednesday afternoon, from 3 p.m. to closing time at our regular Starbucks venue located at 1536 Kirker Pass Rd., in the Clayton Shopping Center, just a couple of driveways up from the intersection of Ygnacio Valley Rd. and Clayton Rd. Our next session is this Wednesday, October 25, 2023. All ages and skill levels are welcome, there are no dues. Come and go anytime, and there is no purchase required (but it would be nice). Be the first to solve a chess puzzle on the first try to win a free tall Starbucks drink!

CHESS this Sunday, October 22nd at Starbucks!

Hi Everyone!

This Sunday, October 22, 2023, expect quite a few players to enjoy chess over the boards at our usual Starbucks venue! Along with the possibility of a couple of masters and several regular players, there will be players new to the club as well as some we haven't seen in a while, along with a few kids ready and game to play!

Come and go anytime from 3:00 p.m. to closing time, there are no dues, there's no purchase requirement (but it would be nice), and all ages and skill levels are welcome! This Sunday there will also be a fairly easy chess puzzle to solve, and the first one to solve it on the first try wins a free tall Starbucks drink of choice!

We also meet Wednesday afternoons as well as Sunday afternoons, same time, same place. Last Wednesday saw a half dozen players enjoy a late afternoon of chess: Tony, Ben C., FBen, Red, Mike S., and Mike T. Expect news of a club tournament to be scheduled for a Sunday in mid-November! CHESS this Wednesday, October 18th at Starbucks!

Hi Everyone!

More than a dozen players of all ages came by this past Sunday to enjoy an afternoon of chess over the boards at our regular Starbucks venue! They were: Kevin, Sam, Yancy, Red, Daniel (who solved the chess puzzle on his first try to win the free tall Starbucks drink), Samantha, Mike T., new player Chris, FBen, Will, Matthew, Rochelle, William, and Ella!

We meet every Sunday and Wednesday afternoons, 3 p.m. to closing, same place, no dues, no purchase required (but it would be nice), come and go anytime, make new friends, renew old friendships, be the first to solve a chess puzzle on the first try to win a free tall Starbucks drink of choice, see you there!!

CHESS this Sunday, October 15th at Starbucks!

Hi Everyone!

We meet every Sunday and Wednesday afternoon from 3:00 p.m. through to closing time at our regular Starbucks venue, located at 1536 Kirker Pass Rd., in the Clayton Shopping Center, just up from the Concord intersection of Ygnacio Valley Rd and Clayton Rd. All ages and skill levels are welcome, there are no dues, and there's no purchase required (but it would be nice).

We meet again this Sunday, October 15, 2023, and there's a free tall Starbucks drink of choice for the player who is the first to solve a chess puzzle on the first try!

Last Wednesday's session was quite fun, filled with laughter, as several players played solid chess however laced with humor! There to enjoy the afternoon of chess over the boards were new players Will and Masood, welcomed by Moses, Diego, Tony, Sam, Mike T., Matthew, Ben C., Angel, Irakli, and a certain retired chess wizard... Manny!

CHESS this Wednesday, Oct. 11th at Starbucks!

Hi Everyone!

This past Sunday's session saw about a dozen players enjoy chess over the boards at our usual Starbucks venue, and it was Red who solved the fairly intricate chess puzzle on his first try to win the prize! With Red at the chess boards were Ben C., Kevin, Evan, Mark, Mike T., Chris B., IMRonald, Ian, JJ, and Kayden!

Players of all ages and skill levels are welcome as we meet again this Wednesday afternoon, from 3:00 p.m. through to closing time at our regular Starbucks located at 1536 Kirker Pass Rd., in the Clayton Shopping Center. We meet Sunday and Wednesday afternoons, same time, same place. Last Wednesday's attendance was unusually light, with a half dozen players enjoying the afternoon at the chessboards: Ben C., Tony, FBen, Mike T., Bert, and a bearded new player whose name I didn't quite get. Ben C. did, on his second try, solve the day's chess puzzle!

CHESS this Wednesday, October 4th at Starbucks!

Hi Everyone!

This past Sunday's session saw 15 players --- 9 adults and 6 kids --- enjoy a good part of the afternoon playing chess over the boards at our regular Starbucks venue! While the more experienced players were Max, Ben C., Sam, Mike T., Reza, Red, Kevin, Samuel, and a new player by name of Uso, the really, really young ones were Sabina, Jackson, Quinny, Poppy, Lucy, and Tramy! They all had fun, including several playing in Blitz and Bullet matches -- and it was Sam who won the free Starbucks drink by solving the chess puzzle on his first attempt!

Players of all ages and skill levels are welcome every Sunday and Wednesday afternoon, from 3:00 p.m. to closing time. Come and go anytime, there's no purchase required, and there are no dues. We're located at 1536 Kirker Pass Rd., in the Clayton Shopping Center, just a couple driveways up from the Concord intersection of Clayton Rd. and Ygnacio Valley Rd.
