Hi Everyone . . . !
There's more fun and
challenging situations over the chess boards this Wednesday evening from 6:00
p.m. - 9:00 p.m. at our regular venue, Starbucks, located at 1536 Kirker Pass
Rd., Clayton, Calif., come by anytime, the earlier the better or the best
tables, more games, and some really interesting company!
Last week's session was
especially fun and interesting, with two players new to the club . . . !
There was Tom from Discovery Bay, and Ralph all the way from Munich, Germany,
accompanied by Robert, Ana, and Julia . . . and also on hand to welcome them
were Rich K., Anthony B., Tony T., Sevien, Hans, Bob C., John S., and Mike T .
. . and a few observers still a bit shy despite our having chess players of all
skill levels . . . !

While we continue to meet every
Wednesday evening at Starbucks, we will also be meeting on afternoon on the
last Sunday of each month, but at the t Panera Bread Restaurant located
in Walnut Creek! We have Bob C. to thank for brokering the arrangement
with Panera Bread Restaurant (at 744 Bancroft Rd, Walnut Creek, between
Ygnacio Valley Rd. and Treat Blvd.), and we will meet there on Sunday, February
28, 2016, from 2:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m.
The restaurant, where there is ample parking, will have a section set
aside for us, and certain chess masters like Ron Cusi and Manny Perez as well
as other players of all skill levels who normally can't make it to our
Wednesday evening sessions due to school or work may also be on hand to help
inaugurate our new Sunday site that day . . . ! If you have any questions
or need more info, just let me know.
See you soon,
